Janice Neyman, Executive Director

A graduate of UT Knoxville

During her tenure, she has served as Finance Director which included Operations and Facility Rentals.

In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and spending time with her husband of 36 years and their granddaughter.


Lindsay Overby-Shirkey, Curator of Collections

Lindsay has been volunteering at the museum since January 2017 and took over the Curator of Collections position in October 2017. She has a B.A. in Archaeology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.A. in Anthropology, specializing in Southeast Asian Archaeology, from Trent University. She has traveled all over the world and lived in the U.S., Canada, Germany, and Japan.

Mitch Mizell, Curator of education

Mitch earned a B.A. in History at Lee University. He is a Cleveland, TN native and history buff. He likes classic rock and trips to the beach.

courtney shirkey, creative development/SOcial Media

Courtney earned a BA in Communication at University of Tennessee Chattanooga with a focus in Public Relations. She has worked with several different nonprofits throughout the Chattanooga area.

Outside of work, she stays busy with dance, friends, and going on adventures!


Hulon dunn, Store manager

Hulon earned a BA in Psychology at Lee University. He serves as the store manager and has worked in retail management/customer service for over 15 years and loves promoting the creatively diverse community of artists that reside in the area. The store represents 60 local artists from within a 150 mile radius of Cleveland!


heather moore, special events manager

Heather received a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood: Child and Family Studies from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in Nonprofit Management from the University of Memphis. She has worked in several nonprofit organizations in both the Chattanooga and Memphis area; and has extensive knowledge and experience in fundraising and event planning.

In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, hanging out with friends and family, and watching her favorite football team: the UT Vols.

hope vollm, Americorps vista

Hope is serving a one year term as an AmeriCorps VISTA in the education department. She received a Bachelor's Degree in History and Visual Culture at Centenary College of Louisiana and a Master's Degree in Museum Studies at the University of Glasgow. She has worked in various museums in the United States and United Kingdom.

In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, trying different foods, and meeting every dog possible.

robert bishop, Facilities manager

For Robert, every day is a new adventure at the museum. He is a people person who enjoys playing pool, listening to music, and putting smiles on people’s faces from hard work and effort.


terrI Dye, Facility Assistant

Terri focuses on always enjoying life, meeting new people, and doing something creative. Her enthusiasm shows through her hard work with events and upkeep of the museum.

Cele curtis, Public relations - Museum store

Cele holds an Associate of Science degree from Cleveland State Community College, Bachelor of Science degree from Covenant College, and Master’s of Education degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Her interests and hobbies include reading, cooking, and travel. She is the mother of two sons, Bret and Derek.
