Cleveland, Tenn. (January 10, 2013)— The Museum Center at 5ive Points is hosting its annual quilt show January 24-March 1, 2014, with a members-only opening receptionon January 23. The theme of this year’s show, Stitches in Time: Hand Quilting, will explore the simple yet intricate art of quilting by hand. The show will feature 25 antique quilts finished prior to 1950, as well as 25 contemporary hand-quilted quilts.
“The annual quilt show is an event the community looks forward to each year. This year’s focus on the origins of this textile art form will be fascinating for children and adults alike,” said Chastain. “We are grateful to First Tennessee Bank for their sponsorship of this family-friendly event.”
Quilts have been judged by national quilting expert Madeline Hawley for appearance, color, design, and technique.

Hawley, who has been certified by the National Quilting Association for two decades, leads workshops, lectures, and writes extensively on quilting and fiber arts. She has judged quilt shows across the nation, and is an avid and accomplished quilter herself.

The Museum Center at 5ive Points tells the story of the Ocoee region through compelling exhibitions and dynamic educational programming that promotes history, culture, and preservation. The Museum Store features arts, crafts, and books from select artists, craftsman, and authors from within a 200-mile radius. Hours are Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The museum is closed Sunday, Monday, and on select holidays. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and students, and free for children under 5. Members of the Museum receive free admission.
