It's time to celebrate all the great things happening in February- Valentine's Day, Brew Ha-Ha Fest, and a new Artist of the Month! This month we are featuring Sherry Johnson. Sherry is a fiber artist specializing in weaving, macrame, hemstitch, embroidery, and needlepoint. 

The Museum Store sells her artwork including tea & kitchen towels, table runners, placemats, scarves, shawls, and greeting cards.

Stop by Tuesday, February 27th from 12:30-3:30 for a special local artist meet & greet session.
Enjoy complimentary refreshments and an intimate shopping experience at the uniquely local Museum Store featuring Sherry Johnson. January 2018 - Jessica Klaaren & Jaime Barks



We are starting the year off strong with TWO Artists of the Month! This month, we have selected Jessica Klaaren and Jaime Barks as our Featured January 2018 Artist of the Month.

Jessica Klaaren of Athens, TN began making jewelry in 2006. Her work features colorful altered metal designs with a fusion of modern and ancient, as well as found objects and artisan made components. Jessica has won several design contests, was a featured designer for Vintaj Natural Brass Company, published and cover-photo in Beads & Trends Magazine, and provided jewelry for celebrity swag bags at both the 2012 Academy Awards and 2013 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Jaime Barks is a watercolor and acrylic artist living in Cleveland, TN. Her style is imaginative and colorful. Barks created a public mural in Cleveland in 2014, has taught multiple classes and workshops in the region, as well as being involved in growing and promoting the visual arts in her community through development of the Cleveland Arts Center. Both Jaime and Jessica will be teaching classes this month as part of the Tennessee Artist Series sponsored by The First Tennessee Foundation. Both highly anticipated classes have been sold out in advance! 

Come to the Museum Store to check out their work and support local artists. All artwork by Jaime Barks is 10% the entire month of January. Museum Members receive an additional 10% off the entire store. The Museum Store is open Tuesday-Friday 10am to 5pm & Saturday 10am to 3pm.

December 2017 - Thomas Spake



December is the month of sending love and joy to those close to us as we come into the new year. That's why we are celebrating Thomas Spake as our December Artist of the Month. At Thomas Spake Studios, he creates unique glass art, incorporating age old glassblowing techniques with American ingenuity to create functional, decorative, and sculptural glass art with a style all its own.

His glass-blowing skills show care and attention which make perfect unique gifts to put under your tree or for a gift exchange that will be unforgettable. Thomas Spake is an Artist unlike any other, and his talent shows. We are proud to have him support the Museum with his work in the Museum Store!


November 2017 - Jaime Lacey

November Artist of the Month - Jaime Lacey

Jaime Lacey is our honored Artist of the Month for November! It is the perfect time to celebrate her beautifully crafted pottery for the upcoming holidays. 

 Jaime is the owner of Loving Hands Pottery in Collegedale, TN. After taking a pottery class at the John C. Campbell Folk School in 2009, she was hooked! She studied with potters Talle Johnson, John Britt, and Mark Peters. She is a registered dietitian in Chattanooga, but pottery is her passion. Coming from a family of artists and engineers, her work is crafted to be functional and attractive. The inspiration for her pieces comes from her love of food, cooking, gardening, and nature.

October 2017 - Dale Cougar Armstrong

Dale "Cougar" Armstrong is the Education Consultant Emeritus for Wire-Sculpture.com, a diehard rockhound and lapidary, and a full-time wire jewelry artist, instructor and author. Dale credits her mom for spurring her fascination with, and education of, rocks and minerals. Her mother was an avid rockhound and many weekend family adventures involved traipsing through the White Mountains of New Hampshire in search of abandoned pegmatite mines.

You're invited to a special Meet & Greet + Trunk Show Thursday, October 19th. Enjoy shopping and socializing with talented Dale Armstrong located in the Museum Store. Admission is free.
