For the month of July, we are proud to feature  Blythe Mayfield, one of our 70 talented artists housed in the Museum Store!

Born and raised in Cleveland, TN Blythe Mayfield graduated from Cleveland High. She attended the University of Indianapolis and studied art therapy. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Indiana, Blythe traveled to Melbourne, Australia where she obtained her Master’s degree in Art Therapy.

Blythe’s passion for creativity and seeing art as a vehicle for exploring feelings, thoughts, and perceptions about the world around us helps hundreds.

“I believe art making is a personal process, placing greater value on the experience of creating rather than the aesthetic appeal of the final product.”

Her images prove- through art- we can run away without ever leaving home!

We had a great time with Blythe in the store demonstrating her work!  Those who were here enjoyed seeing her show off her wonderful talent!

Blythe's work includes oil painting and collage pieces.  On Saturday, July 12th we will have Blythe in the Museum Store throughout the day doing demonstrations of her work!  Then she will be back again on Saturday, July 26th at 10:00 A.M. for a class on creative expressions using collage/decoupage.  The class will only be $5.00!  You do not want to miss out on this great opportunity!
