Hundreds of Museum Center supporters turned out for the festivities.
Against a backdrop of student-designed banners, Building Committee
Chairman Bill Burch (white shirt at backhoe) gives the order
for the first bucketful to be turned.
|

Executive Director Joe Hamilton welcomes the crowd.
Also on the dais were living history characters Fallen Sky (left),
Sarah Scott (2nd left), Lucy Ratcliffe (2nd right)
and Dewey Hooper (right).

Student artists pose against the classroom-decorated
banners that lined the Museum Center site. Each banner
depicts a character from the story line's seven eras.
|

L'ene Bryant (left) and Brownie
Milne catch up on news. At rear is
Trustee Franklin Chancey.
|

Board of Trustees President Don Lorton
thanks supporters for their help
and outlines plans for the future.
|

Cleveland Mayor Tom Rowland praises the Museum Center
project. Behind him, under a new-logo banner along Inman Street,
are (from left) living history character Sarah Scott, Trustee
Robert George, Board Past President Sherry Brown and
Trustee Hoyle Rymer.
|

For a grand finale, supporters line up around the Museum Center's "footprint" on
the site
for a community group photo. Inman Street runs in the foreground.
Newschannel 9 broadcast the event live from the red tent.
