Teacher Workshop: Introduction to Tennessee History Day and Primary Sources

In this workshop, receive an introduction to History Day – the contest, the projects, the classroom connections. In addition, learn more about how to find and use primary sources in the classroom using local and national resources to meet standards.

National History Day is a non-profit education organization offering academic programs and a National Contest to engage middle- and high-school students in conducting original research on historical topics. Students compete annually with their projects at local and state levels before moving on to the national contest.

Presented by Joel Walker, Education Specialist from National Archives Atlanta, and Joy Veenstra, Curator of Education at the Museum Center at 5ive Points. Made possible in part by the National Archives Foundation and through the support of the William Randolph Hearst Foundation.
