Andrew Jackson lecture

To celebrate Andrew Jackson's 250th Birthday year, the Museum is excited to partner with The Hermitage, Historic Home of Andrew Jackson, in Nashville, TN. At this lecture, Dr. Tom Kanon from Tennessee State Library and Archives (TSLA) will speak on the War of 1812.  Also, Glen Kyle from Northeast Georgia History Center will speak on the Revolutionary War in the Appalachians.

The lecture is accompanied by a 10-panel exhibition of Jackson’s life and legacy, curated by the Tennessee State Library and Archives. Exhibit highlights include Jackson’s dueling history, his early years in Tennessee, his relationships with Native peoples, and the Age of Jackson. Visitors to the museum will have an opportunity to see the exhibition from November 13-December 5.
