RESPONSIBILITIES OF PLAY DIRECTOR
1. Choose or assist in choosing the play and ordering scripts.
2. Coordinate performance dates with Museum staff.
3. Submit a proposed budget for the production for approval by museum staff and work within the approved budget. All expenditures must be approved. Check with fiscal officer for tax exempt vendors and forms.
4. Select a production manager.
5. Schedule and conduct auditions and return all audition sheets to Ocoee Players Steering Committee.
6. Prepare a rehearsal schedule to coordinate with cultural center schedule.
7. Attend and conduct all rehearsals.
8. Design, coordinate, supervise the construction of the set.
9. Coordinate costumes, props, set, lighting, sound, make-up, and other vital elements of the production with production manager and appropriate crews.
10. Assist with publicity and program information. Provide museum liaison staff member with program information two weeks prior to first performance.
11. Be responsible for locking rehearsal area following rehearsals or coordinate such with museum staff.
12. Retain all receipts for production expenses and submit them to museum staff liaison for reimbursement complete with name and address. Submit all invoices for any expenses charged to the museum.
13. Arrange for striking the set and stage the evening of the last performance.
14. Clear dressing rooms and backstage area of props, costumes, etc. following the final performance.
15. Plan and coordinate cast party, if such party is held.
